OUR PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to gain a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

Who we are

Our company name is Persson Technologies, LLC and our website address is: https://perssontechnologies.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

In order for visitors to leave comments on the site we require that an account is created.  This is to prevent spambots from overwhelming our site with multiple entries.

When registering on our site you may be asked to enter your name, email address or other details to enhance your experience.  Please note that if you do not use your account within three days we will assume you are not a real person and we will delete your account.

Security software on our site also collects the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to aid in spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you comment on an article or post:

  • To personalize your experience.
  • To improve our website in order to better serve you.

  • To follow up with you after correspondence

Contact forms

The contact form we use simply sends an email and does not store any data other than what is entered in the form.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require any person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting Personally Identifiable Information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared. – See more at: http://consumercal.org/california-online-privacy-protection-act-caloppa/#sthash.0FdRbT51.dpuf

According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

  • Users can visit our site anonymously.
  • Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it on our home page or as a minimum, on the first significant page after entering our website.
  • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can easily be found on the page specified above.
  • You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page
  • You can change your personal information by logging in to your account
